Intro to entrepreneur

The term of entrepreneur comes from the French word, “entreprende” which means a person that carried a responsibility or duty and try to do it as he or she can. (Richard Cantillon, 1755). While, based on Kamus Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka, the definition of entrepreneur means an entrepreneur is a person or a group of individuals that established or leads their own business and develop it from time to time for the prosperity of society and the country. McClelland (1961) expressed that entrepreneur is innovative and have high-performance requirements which also means a high need for achievement. An entrepreneur is required to mobilize economic resources to accelerate the process of economic growth. To be a successful entrepreneur, we must combine all the economic factors, take a risk, create and find a business opportunity with the aim to get profit, self-satisfaction, and prosperity of the society.

While entrepreneurship means, activity as an entrepreneur which can be defined as "the exercise of innovation, finance, and businesses in order to change and produce an innovation in goods and services in the economy”. According to Histrich and Peter (1988), entrepreneurship is a dynamic process which creates a large risk on equity, time and commitment to a career or the process of creating something new by taking into account the time and effort with regard to financial risks, psychological and social development and benefit from it. As for Kuratko and Hodgetts (2004), they define entrepreneurship as a process of innovation and creation through the four dimensions of the individual, the organization, the environment (environment) and the process, in collaboration with the network in government, education and institutional (institution).
